Cantus Bio Power Ltd., together with affiliated Tinplant Biotechnik GmbH, Klein-Wanzleben, Germany, has invested 16 years of scientific research into its Miscanthus genera. Tinplant is a leading company in breeding and in-vitro propagating Miscanthus. The effort has been lead by Dr. Martin Deuter and Dr. Juergen Abraham, who collected and bred over 1,000 genera of Miscanthus for all types of growing conditions.  Tinplant was a contributor to the European Miscanthus Improvement Project in 1997. In Portugal, Tinplant’s genera yielded up to 41 tons/hectare. Dr. Deuter has published over 50 research papers on Miscanthus.
  
Cantus Bio Power, represented by Frederick Hoelk , President of Tinplant Biotechnik GmbH and Dean Tiessen, President of Pyramid Farms, Leamington, Ontario, have obtained the exclusive rights to import, propagate and distribute Miscanthus in Canada from Tinplant Biotechnik GmbH and Mendel Biotechnology Inc, Hayward, CA.

Tinplant and Mendel closely collaborate in the further research and commercialization of Miscanthus.
